The Pontefract and District Amateur Radio Society (PDARS) meets weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 6:30pm - 9pm at the Carleton Grange Community Centre, Carleton Road, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, WF8 3RJ.
The society's main focus is on Special Event Stations, Worked All Britain (W.A.B) and construction projects. To calculate your W.A.B Square open WhatsMyLocator by Peter Goodhall, (2M0SQL). Enter your postcode in the 'Search Location' box and then click search.
We have two purpose built shacks for club members to use, one equipped with HF (G3FYQ) and the second for VHF (G1FYQ). The club is active in various contests throughout the year including the RSGB 3.5MHz Club Championship Contests.
PDARS is affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) where further information on Amateur Radio in the UK can be obtained.
From time to time we provide training towards the Foundation license and administer exams.
